Ceremony at the Istanbul Italian Consulate (Venetian Palace) for the awarding by the Italian Government of the ‘Cavaliere’ awards, 15 January 2026.

This award was given as a testament for the contributions made to the development of friendship, cultural cooperation, and mutual relations between Italy and Turkey, presented to the head of the Levantine Association Izmir, Giuliano Gloghini by the Italian Ambassador to Turkey, Giorgio Marrapodi, pictured above.

Veteran researcher and author of a whole range of books (45) covering of the history of Latin Catholic community of Turkey, Rinaldo Marmara was also awarded the Order of the Star of Italy with this medal at the same ceremony.
