Antonio Imperiale |
Antonio and Maria Imperiale, the young couple in Istanbul. |
Carolina Imperiale with a friend of hers. The car is a Fiat model 520 (built from 1927 to 1931) and is the first with the driver on the left. The tool near the driver looks like one of the very first taximeters. |
Carolina Imperiale in a different make car, with unknown friends. The car is again Italian (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino - FIAT) and again with wooden wheels. It is a model 509 (built from 1925 to 1929) and is the first utilitarian produced (low price, 2 doors but 4 seats) and seems to have modified mudguards. |

The family group, from left to right: youngest daughter Carolina, mother Maria, son Raymond, eldest daughter Olga, father Antonio, daughter Mafalda (the little girl standing is Yolanda, born 1927, daughter of Olga), taken in Istanbul early 1930s. |

Series of photos held at an aunt’s house, showing my grandmother Carolina, before her marriage, with unknown friends. |

The inscription on the back of the photo possibly reads: ‘Olga freize Kati ti na Fate’? |
