The other former Whittall Han was at Eminönü Hobyar-Surruri Quarter, Aşirefendi Caddesi, completely altered, merged with its neighbour and taking its name of Istanbul Han. Only some architectural decorations are preserved. This han is one block away from the first former Whittall Han, on the corners of Hanımeli sokak and Köprücü Sokak. Photos below looking up Aşirefendi Caddesi, the building on the left. The J W Whittall & Co Ltd was active in this former building until the late 1960’s at the earliest.

The third former Whittall Han was at Eminönü Tahtakale Quarter, Kantarcılar Caddesi. The plot started from where the middle shop is and went back to the mosque in the distance, now encompasing around 50 small shops. It is marked in the 1940 Pervititch map as the ‘Whittall Ardiyesi’ (Whittall warehouse) indicating this was not a standard han, but a storage / transit point situated near the shore pier of ‘Yemişçi İskelesi’. Clearly today there is no remanant of the former extensive building(s). This area in line with the name of the street is now the focus of scales dealers.
