Simplified family tree - ancestry of Marie Anne Marandet:

Further info on the featured families:
Legoux: French and with no Levantine predecessors.
D’Andria: An important family of Chios. The ancestor, Pantaleone d’Andria, was recognised as Genoese citizen in 1584, so presumably the first arrival on that island. A legal document drawn up in Genoa in 1789 gives the family tree – at least for the main branches… but there are many other d’Andrias that whe have’nt connected yet to the main tree.
Calavassy (Caporal): One of the oldest Catholic family of the island of Syra, arrived in Smyrna around 1740.
Vuccino: Another old Catholic family of the island of Syra, present in Smyrna in the 17th century.
Missir: As reported by Livio Missir in his book “Arbre généalogique de la famille Missir” and according to the family tradition, Abraham Missir and his mother Zephirine Missir arrived in Smyrna around the year 1740 running away from Persia where the Shah was persecuting the Catholic families.
Mirzan; Issaverdens are two branches of the same family. Their common ancestor Sultan Beg lived around the year 1550 in the province of Nakhichevan (today part of Azerbaidjan and at that time part of the Persian empire) – north of Mount Ararat. They were Catholic Armenian. They arrived in Smyrna around the year 1740 fleeing the persecutions of the Iranian Shah. As most of the Armenians families they first settled in Bournabat (Bornova).
Glavany: It is said – but not proved yet – that they came from France (Dauphiné) and settled in Chios in the middle of the 17th century, before going to Constantinople, Smyrna & Alexandria. There is a famous painting -view- of a Mlle Glavany by Liotard that has recently been bought by the Louvre. And recently we’ve had in France Jean Glavany – minister of Agriculture (1998-2002).
Decampis: Jean Decampis – according to tradition – was a musician of the Kings’ chapel (King Louis XIII of France) before becoming vice-consul in Chios around the year 1600.
Rose: Henry Edward Rose arrived in Smyrna around 1850 coming from Norfolk, UK and settled in Buca with his family.
Schiffmann: Joseph Schiffman, an Austrian citizen, was born in Trieste and arrived in Smyrna around the year 1840. He was the manager of a carpet factory in 1867, and also (before or after?) the agent of the Austrian Lloyd Insurance company.
Missir, Mirzan, Issaverdens: Armenian catholics from Persia.
Giachini: mystery.
Marcopoli, Bordo & Voricla: from Chios.
Aystetter-Müller: mystery.
